Seeing is Believing

The photo above is an actual scan of the CalBattery Silicon-Graphene (SiGr) Lithium ion Battery (LIB) Anode Composite Material, that shows uniformly embedded nano-silicon in graphene platelets. This scan is from a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

Tests at Argonne National Laboratory have shown this to greatly improve LIB density and capacity. Unlike other silicon anode materials in development, the CalBattery composite material remains “stable” and does not agglomerate and rapidly deteriorate after only a few charge/discharge cycles.
